ŁKA CONNECTS. RAIL TRANSPORT IN THE LODZKIE REGION – PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

The Lodzkie Region’s local government supports the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly local rail transport, which is an asset of major importance in the regional mobility system. In recent years, huge railway investments have been undertaken in the Lodzkie Region, both in the infrastructure and the rolling stock. Due to a long-term agreement that the Organiser, SWŁ, has concluded with Łódzka Kolej Aglomaracyjna [Lodz Agglomeration Railway], the latter can continuously develop its offer, thus ensuring efficient transport for the region’s residents.

The main objective of the panel will be to summarise the achievements to date in building an effective railway-based transport system in the Lodzkie Region. Representatives of the rail sector, local authorities, and public transport experts will seek to assess the last five years of rail development in the region. They will share their experience in the field of organising regional railway traffic. The meeting will also provide an opportunity to debate on the biggest challenges faced by the passenger transport sector.
